GWEN
The priest... he actually stood there and claimed that God "took him away" to help his friends, the confused high school students, find their way to Jesus.

PARKER
Well, how do you know He didn't? I mean, it's kind of arrogant. You don't know why he died.

GWEN
He died because he was driving to work, and a truck hit him! But that's too hard for anyone to deal with, they'd rather live with the delusion that the world makes sense.

PARKER
If they want to believe that, what difference does it make to you? What are you so angry about? Explain it to me, Gwen, because I don't get it.

GWEN
We weren't there for a sermon, we were there to pay our respects to a kid who died.

PARKER
But that kid believed in God, in Jesus. What's so wrong with saying so?

GWEN
They were using his death to advance their own agenda. There were a room full of scared, crying teenagers, and as soon as they were done saying, "Your friend was right with the Lord, he's in a better place," they basically threatened everyone. They practically said, "You'd better believe everything we say, because you could die at any time, just like he did, and then you're going straight to the fires of Hell!"
