What Goes Around
You're sleeping now, sweetie,
in the bed I once shared
with my lover, the liar,
who swore that he cared
You might think it's my fault,
He might claim that he tried,
But the truth of the matter
cannot be denied -
the truth is, he lied.
You think that you're happy,
and that everything's fine,
and you're meeting the family,
that should have been mine
The lips that meet yours, love -
Do you know where they've been?
I can still feel the warmth
they left on my skin
You might think you'll be different
He might claim that he tried,
But the truth of the matter
cannot be denied -
the truth is, he lied.
Gloat while he's yours, dear,
feeling safe and secure,
But if you knew what I do,
you wouldn't be so sure
He lied and betrayed me,
someday he'll betray you
I hope I see the look on your face
when you're replaced
with someone new
He'll tell her it was your fault,
He'll tell her that he tried,
And you'll know the truth
that can't be denied -
the truth is, he lied
You'll see that he lied
