Saying Goodbye
A river divides us
The Queen of Melodrama
And the King of Apathy
And I'm ambivalent
And you're not worth my time
But you'd never know it
If you saw the way we looked
At each other.
Almost completely willing
To settle for less
To trade solitary order
For our joint mess.
So many doors before me,
No two the same
So why do I want to go
Back the way I came?
The King of Apathy
Rules me effortlessly
Without malice
Without mercy
Conquered.
The river divides us
And I must let go
Of the careless King who owns me
Of everything I know.
