Behind the Scenes

Living Hell

she counted the days on the calendar
more than eighty had gone by.
she stared at the wall, the carpet,
she looked out the window, tried not to cry.

she wondered how it could be true
as quick to the floor she dropped.
she knew it wasn't possible -
how could her clock have stopped?

she called out His name in the silence,
the only one who could save her
from His punishment for her love - her sin -
and the end of the life He gave her.
