Another Thanksgiving in Binghamton
Thanksgiving is upon us, so Happy Thanksgiving, kids. I'll be sending out my semi-annual "Give me your contact information, bitches!" e-mail soon, so if you don't get one by this weekend, assume that I don't have a valid e-mail address for you anymore, and e-mail me instead.
I'm heading back to Binghamton at 6:30 tonight. Hopefully, my ICC will be over by the time I need to get my cab. Hopefully, the bus won't be too insanely crowded. Hopefully, no strange men in the bus stop will want to talk to me about going to high school with Barbara Streisand, which is what happened last year.
I can't get enough of Broken Bride lately. If anyone needs a copy, let me know.

Razors pain you; Rivers are damp; Acids stain you; And drugs cause cramp. Guns aren't lawful; Nooses give; Gas smells awful; You might as well live.

It's Over!
Wednesday, November 05, 2008 @ 2:44 PM
Did anyone else feel a tremendous sense of relief at around 11pm last night? It feels as though some small segment of the population has finally come around. I feel cautiously hopeful. I know Bush will probably pardon his cronies and issue a bunch of bullshit executive orders in the next two months, but after that... America stands a chance. That doesn't mean we won't blow it. We probably will. But we have a chance, for the first time in eight years. And that feels good.
Now that a Democrat is preparing to take over the White House, I feel free to worry about other things. I'm not too worried about local politics in New York - or Illinois for that matter. My rage and snarkiness have outlived their usefulness, and their welcome. It's time to start using the energy I've been wasting on defensive rants for something that's more productive. I'm not sure what that will be. But I know it's time for a change.

I turned 25 yesterday. I wore my handmade Captain Liberty costume and handed out candy with Amanda, Rich, and Nick. Lindsay came over, we drank some cider. As parties go, it was on the lame side. Then this morning, I quit my job. It was a long time coming, but I still feel kind of weird about it. I should have given them more notice, but on the other hand, the manager was a complete bitch to me, so I don't really owe them anything. I'm really happy that I never have to go back there again, but I feel inexplicably guilty and filled with dread. I feel like crawling into a hole and disappearing.
