Three Days of Rain
By Richard GreenbergHere, Ned struggles against his stutter, his shyness, and his guilt, to tell Lina how he feels about her. Lina is involved with his partner, roommate and best friend, Theo.
NED:
I'm always w-watching you.
Whenever you're here... I can't help it. I try not to. Ev-ever since I met you.
It's awful... I don't want it... I d-don't expect... to have things... like other people, but I'm ... always th-thinking of you. It's h-horrible...
I kn-know nothing can come of it... I know I can't have... the things I w-want. I shouldn't tell you this. I ca-can't stop, though. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.
You're s-so ... fantastic, you're... D-don't let him t-take you down... the way he does. Don't let him... hurt you. You don't de-deserve it. You deserve only good things. N-not him. Not me. Or... I mean, not - (He stops.)
